Bengaluru: The Cubbon Park police arrested three people from Ramanagaram in connection with a hoax bomb call made to the police control room.
Based on details of their call records, the police managed to track down Baba Siraj, 24, Zakir, 22, and Khaja Siraj, 20. The trio, who work at a silk reeling unit in Ramanagaram, had gone to Chintamani to visit one of their relatives.
They allegedly stole three mobile phones from a shop in Chintamani and used the phones to make calls to the control room, claiming to have planted a bomb at the park.
The police immediately swung into action and alerted the anti-sabotage team. The team scourged the entire park and later confirmed that the call had been a hoax.
The police have taken the three into custody and are ascertaining if they have a criminal background.
