A case has been registered against three individuals at V.V. Puram Police Station for allegedly assaulting and abusing night patrol police personnel. Following a complaint from police staff K.N. Koushik, an FIR was lodged against the accused, identified as Mariswamy of Paduvarahalli and his associates. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
As per the complaint, officers Koushik and Mohammed Rehaman were patrolling around 3 AM when they spotted three individuals causing a disturbance near a hotel on 8th Cross, Adipampa Road. When questioned, the group reportedly started arguing and verbally abusing the officers. One of them allegedly slapped Koushik, while the others pushed him.
When Rehaman intervened, he was also assaulted. The officers then alerted Night Patrolling Officer Nagarajanayaka, who arrived at the scene and identified the accused.
The investigation is ongoing.
