The North Division of Bengaluru City Police registered three cases during a special enforcement drive targeting bars, restaurants and wine shops operating within its jurisdiction.

The inspection drive began in the early hours of the day and continued until 10 am, covering establishments across multiple police station limits.

Surprise inspections conducted across North Division

According to police, teams carried out surprise checks at commercial establishments to verify compliance with provisions of the Excise Act and other regulatory requirements.

The operation covered areas falling under 13 police stations in the North Division.

Over 130 establishments inspected

Police said a total of 69 wine shops and 64 bars and restaurants were inspected during the drive.

Officials examined licences, operating procedures and compliance with excise regulations as part of the checks.

Three cases registered for violations

During the inspections, authorities identified violations of provisions under the Excise Act at certain establishments.

As a result, three cases were registered against the concerned outlets. Police, however, did not immediately disclose the specific nature of the violations.

More enforcement drives planned

Police said such inspections are conducted periodically to ensure compliance with excise laws and maintain public order.

Officials added that enforcement drives will continue across the city to monitor establishments and take action against those found violating regulations.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by Bengaluru police to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure licensed businesses operate within the framework of the law.
