Bengaluru: Kampli Congress MLA JN Ganesh who was arrested from Somanath in Gujarat under the charge of assaulting fellow MLA Anand Singh at a resort in Bidadi on January 19 is in news again.
Even though he can get bail in this case, what is surprising is that he has not made any move to secure bail and has opted to remain behind the bars.
While the move of the MLA has left eyebrows raised, many say that it is a conscious decision of the MLA following the tug-of-war going on between the BJP and the Congress.
According to sources, the BJP leaders have met Ganesh, along with the party advocates and have extended support.
However, the Congress leaders are pressurising Ganesh to reject help from the BJP as it may end up yielding results for the BJP under the Operation Kamala.
“It looks like Ganesh has opted to take the safe route by paying no attention to both, the BJP and the Congress,” said a source.
Ganesh is not available for reaction.
