Tumakuru: BESCOM Office locked by farmers

Tumakuru: Alleging that the BESCOM Department was not supplying electricity to the farmers properly, a group of people locked the BESCOM Office and staged a protest at Nittur in Gubbi Taluk of the District on Monday April 3.

Alleging that the department was not supplying electricity to the pump sets of farmers’ agricultural land in Nittur area of the Taluk, water was not being supplied to agricultural land and plantations, farmers from Benachagere, Haranahalli and others locked the BESCOM office and staged a protest.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP Taluk President Panchakshari said that the problem has been continuous since almost two months and there has been no uninterrupted power supply. This has created a shortage of drinking water including for homes. There are constant protests here as ae Anil Kumar is not working properly. He demanded that he be transferred from here immediately.
