Tumakuru: “Those working in the field of education have misinterpreted the circular issued by the Government on the evaluation of examinations for students of classes 5 and 8. It is not a public exam, and no student will fail,” said Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh. He clarified that the only thing that will be done is to evaluate students’ learning.
He was speaking at an educational conclave organised in the City on Saturday December 24. “There have been complaints that children have not been taught anything at the lower level. The dropout number has also increased. In this context, the child’s understanding is being evaluated in order to instil confidence in the children, he said.
“The aim is to ensure that in the next class, the student do not feel inferior to the person lagging back in learning,” he asserted.
