Tumakuru: Leopard traced in District

Tumakuru: A leopard was caught in a cage at the foot of Thanganahalli Hill inder Neelagondanahalli Gram Panchayat of Kolala Hobli in Koratagere Taluk of the District on the morning of Saturday December 31.

The leopard had attacked several children and elderly people in Irakasandra Colony Village. Finally it has been been captured and locals are heaving a sigh of relief. It has repeatedly attacked animals, children and fled.

Alarmed by this, villagers of several villages in Neelagondanahalli and Elarampura Gram Panchayats had appealed to the Forest Department Officials to capture the leopard.

A team of Forest Department officials rushed to Nilagondanahalli Gram Panchayat. They also visited the village and made arrangements to place a cage at the spot where the leopard was spotted and the leopard was captured in the cage on the morning of Saturday.
