Bengaluru: The Devanahalli police arrested two men on charges of drug peddling and seized 1.4 kg of ganja valued at ₹55,000. Officers also recovered ₹1,200 in cash, a weighing machine, and a two-wheeler used by the suspects.

Police operation and arrest

Acting on a tip-off on August 28, the police learnt that two individuals were attempting to sell drugs near Rani Cross in MR Layout. A swift raid was conducted, during which the accused were caught red-handed with the contraband.

The arrested men have been identified as:

  • Deepak Kamti (35), native of Bihar
  • Rohit Kumar (23), native of Bihar

Both were taken into custody at the spot.

The case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which carries stringent penalties for possession and distribution of banned substances.
