Bengaluru: Kannada Okkuta leader Vatal Nagraj said the union government should provide financial assistance to the tune of Rs 1 Lakh to lovers to facilitate their weddings.
Vatal in his quintessential way, arranged for the “wedding of sheep” in the state capital, to express his solidarity with lovers on Valentine’s Day.
Love is not confined to any caste or religion and is universal. In such a scenario, one should not oppose lovers willing to get married on their own. The union government should come forward and provide financial assistance ranging from Rs 50000 to Rs 1 Lakh, said Vatal supporting Valentine’s Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, there are reports of Sriram Sene activists posing threats to lovers on V-day in some parts of state and forcing them to take marriage vows.
