In a distressing incident on the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway, at least 15 individuals sustained injuries when their van overturned near Baluchetty Chathiram. The passengers were en route to a funeral in Koothiramedu, located close to Baluchetty Chathiram in Kancheepuram district.
According to police reports, the accident was triggered by a tyre burst from a nearby truck, which caused the driver of the van to lose control. The vehicle veered sharply to the left before overturning. All those aboard the van, including the driver, were injured and promptly taken to the government hospital in Sriperumbudur for medical attention.
The Baluchetty Chathiram police have initiated an investigation and registered a case regarding the incident.
