Vijay Diwas: CM BSY pays tribute to martyrs of 1971 Indo-Pak War

Bengaluru: Marking ‘Vijay Diwas’, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa laid a wreath and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers of the 1971 Indo-Pak war at the National Military Memorial.

On Monday, December 16, state home minister Basavaraj Bommai, Chief Secretary of the Government of Karnataka, T M Vijayabhaskar, parliamentarian Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Brigadier Ravi Muniswami and others paid tribute at the memorial.

It can be recalled that it was on this day, December 16, that Pakistan faced a humiliating defeat at the hands of the brave Indian soldiers during the Indo-Pak War in 1971. The war resulted in the bifurcation and liberation of Bangladesh (East Pakistan).
