Vijayapura: “Some people may be calling MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal a lion or even a ferocious Lion, but in my view, he is neither of the one. He is no better than a dung beetle.” This is how expelled BJP’ Raita Morcha State General Secretary, Ravikant Bagali allegedly described Yatnal.

Launching a scathing attack against BJP and the Party’s District President, R. S. Patil Kuchabal, Bagali said that while Kuchabal is acting like a puppet in the hands of Yatnal, the MLA is determined to finish off the party by creating hatred among the party leaders of different communities.

Accusing him of being determined to take control of the party by sidelining all the leaders, Bagali likened Yatnal to Hitler.

Questioning the loyalty of Yatnal to the BJP, he said that everyone knew how many times Yatnal was expelled from the BJP and how many times he targeted the senior party leaders.

He also accused Yatnal of getting contracts in City Corporation limits only to those contractors who are his supporters.

“Has he ensured contact with any Dalit contractor in the last nearly five years? Let him tell the name,” he said.

With the party failing to get candidates for two wards in the last City Corporation polls, Bagali held Yatnal and Kuchabal responsible for not being able to find two candidates despite the party being in power in the State.

“It clearly shows the organising ability of Kuchabal and Yatnal who could not get two candidates and the BJP could contest only in 33 wards and not in all the 35 wards,” he said.

He demanded Kuchabal resign from the party by owning moral responsibility. He also urged the BJP leaders to remove Kuchabal from the post and appoint some competent leader for the post.

Recalling the statement of Yatnal where he allegedly said that by paying Rs. 2500 Crore, one could become CM in BJP, Bagali asked why Kuchabal gave no statement against Yatnal when he issued such a damaging statement against the party.

“It means that Kuchabal is no better than a decorative doll who has simply no powers to have any say in the party,” he said.

Bagali who had contested as an independent candidate in the Corporation after being denied a ticket from the party, held Kuchabal and Yatnal responsible for getting his ticket denied.

He said that if the party offers a ticket to Yatnal again in the coming Assembly polls, then the party will surely bite the dust in the district.

“We will try to convey this message to the party High Command in the coming days,” he said.

Asked whether he plans to form a team of those leaders who are against Yatnal in the BJP, Bagali said that there was no such need as the people are unhappy with Yatnal and they will defeat him in the next polls.
