Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda said that in order to save a regional party like JD (S) it is very important to win the confidence and deliberate with party workers at the district level. I will also speak with all the leaders in the party for strengthening the JD (S), he added.
He was speaking to media persons at JD (S) party office. He said that he never campaigns for any bypolls but he made an exception for the recent bypolls. Despite my presence the party failed to perform, and I will introspect as well as discuss in this regard with fellow party members.
Gowda said that despite JD (S) fielding Muslim candidates in Sindagi and Hanagal the party had to face a loss. So who did the Muslims vote, he questioned and maintained that he will not comment on allegations made by Congress that JD ,(S) had fielded the Muslim candidates to make Congress lose elections.
