Bengaluru: A 37-year-old woman has alleged that she was assaulted by a father and son in the Vyalikaval area on Friday night following a dispute linked to an alleged personal matter.
According to police, the complainant, identified as Devika, who works at a printing press, stated that the incident occurred around 10 pm near her residence. She alleged that her neighbours, Nagaraj, a real estate broker, and his son Lokesh, forcibly dragged and assaulted her in front of her family members.
Dispute reportedly triggered by personal allegation
In her complaint, Devika told police that she had not voluntarily disclosed any information about the alleged relationship involving Lokesh, who is married and has a child. She claimed she only responded when questioned by Lokesh’s wife regarding the matter.
Following this, the accused allegedly confronted her and carried out the assault, leading to the complaint being filed.
Police register case, issue notices
Based on the complaint, the Vyalikaval Police Station has registered a case and issued notices to the accused for further inquiry.
Police officials stated that the matter is under investigation and that statements from both parties are being recorded to establish the sequence of events.
Accused file counter-complaint
Meanwhile, the accused have filed a counter-complaint, alleging that Devika threatened to damage their reputation and verbally abused members of their family.
Police confirmed that both complaints will be examined as part of the investigation, and appropriate action will be taken based on findings.
