Bengaluru: Progressive thinker and writer Chandrashekar Patil, popularly known as Champa, has been selected for the Basavashri award. This award is conferred by the Murugha Mutt in Chitradurga.
Speaking to the media, Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana of the Muruga mutt said that the award will be conferred on May 7 during the Basava Jayanti event.
The award comprises a citation and a purse of Rs. 5 lakh.
“Chandrashekar Patil is known for his progressive writings and creating awareness in the society. So we selected him for the award,” he said.
