According to CID sources, Yediyurappa arrived at the agency’s headquarters on Palace Road at 11 am and departed at 2:40 pm. Deccan Herald reported Yediyurappa was questioned by a Deputy Superintendent of Police regarding the allegations. His statement was recorded, during which he denied the charges, as reported by DH.

The case stems from a complaint filed by a 54-year-old woman on March 14, 2024, accusing Yediyurappa of sexually abusing her 17-year-old daughter at his residence in northern Bengaluru’s Dollars Colony on February 2, when they visited him seeking assistance in another abuse case. The Sadashivanagar police registered the case under Section 8 (punishment for sexual assault) of the POCSO Act and IPC Section 354A (sexual harassment). Yediyurappa has firmly denied the allegations, and the Karnataka government transferred the case to the CID on March 15.

The survivor recorded her statement before a magistrate on March 26. Yediyurappa first appeared before the CID on April 12, when the investigation team collected his voice sample. The case then stalled as the Lok Sabha elections commenced. On May 26, the survivor’s mother passed away in a Bengaluru hospital due to lung cancer.

On June 10, the survivor’s brother petitioned the High Court for a speedy investigation. That same day, the CID issued a notice for Yediyurappa to appear for questioning on June 12 at 10:30 am. Yediyurappa responded that he would be available on June 17 due to prior commitments in New Delhi.

On June 13, the Additional City Civil and Sessions and Fast Track Special Court (FTSC-1) in Bengaluru issued a non-bailable warrant. However, on June 14, the High Court ordered the investigators not to take coercive action against Yediyurappa and instructed him to appear before the CID on June 17.
