Thunderstorms likely in hill districts
Intermittent showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are expected in several regions. The IMD has indicated heightened thunderstorm activity in Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru and Hassan districts.
A yellow alert has been issued for Hassan, Kodagu and Mysuru due to the risk of thunderstorms and lightning strikes. While severe weather conditions are not anticipated, authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, especially during outdoor activities.
Rising temperatures raise concern
Despite the rainfall, daytime temperatures have been steadily climbing. Weather officials warn that heat intensity across Karnataka is likely to increase further after the second week of March, potentially affecting daytime comfort levels.
The Health Department has cautioned citizens about heat-related illnesses as temperatures rise. People are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure between 11 am and 4 pm, stay hydrated and follow official advisories.
