BENGALURU: The spirit of International Yoga Day 2025 resonated across the country as Union leaders and citizens came together in large numbers to celebrate the 11th edition of the global event.
In Bengaluru, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje performed yoga and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in taking yoga to the world stage. “It is due to PM Modi’s consistent push that the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day,” she stated while speaking to the media.
Meanwhile, in Delhi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar led a yoga session at Nehru Park alongside the diplomatic corps. Echoing the PM’s message, Jaishankar posted on X: “Today’s session truly reflected Yoga for all — beyond boundaries, backgrounds, age, or ability.”
The central celebrations took place in Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Modi performed yoga on the scenic coastline, with Indian Navy ships adding grandeur to the backdrop. Over three lakh participants joined the PM for a mass yoga session, showcasing solidarity in health and wellness.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister remarked, “Yoga is a universal gift. It transcends age, background, and ability. It brings humanity together in health, harmony, and consciousness.”
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscores the deep connection between personal well-being and the health of the planet.
