Chikkaballapur: In a grisly murder, a man identified as Srikanth, a resident of Ambedkar Colony, was found dead on BB Road on Wednesday morning with his head smashed by a boulder in front of a shop located in the basement of a commercial building.

According to police sources, Srikanth had an argument with his wife on Tuesday night, following which he was discovered dead the next morning by shocked passersby. The bloodied boulder, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found at the crime scene.

Superintendent of Police Kushal Chowksi and senior officials inspected the site. The Chikkaballapur Town Police have filed a case and are conducting an in-depth investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident, a village accountant named Ramesh (28) lost his life in a two-wheeler accident near Mallur village in Sidlaghatta taluk on Tuesday. He was posted at the Peddur revenue circle in Chintamani taluk. The Sidlaghatta Rural Police have taken up the case.
