Chikkamagaluru: A devastating incident unfolded at Morarji Desai Residential School in Kuppalu village, claiming the life of 13-year-old Akash due to electrocution. Akash, accompanied by two classmates, was gathering jamun fruit from a tree on the school premises when tragedy struck. In an unfortunate turn, he fell from the tree and inadvertently came into contact with an electric wire, resulting in a fatal shock.
Despite immediate medical intervention, Akash succumbed to his injuries, prompting allegations of negligence from his grieving family.
In response to public outcry and concerns over safety measures, authorities swiftly took action by suspending eight staff members, including the school’s principal and hostel warden. The suspensions were attributed to lapses in safety protocols that contributed to the tragic incident.
