Karwar: Work is being carried out for the construction of the road and bridge work between Manjaguni-Gangavali. The bus traffic has been stopped suddenly without informing the locals or to make an alternative arrangement.
KRDCL had given a written form to the Transport Department saying that the bus should not be allowed here as the work is going on to build the road connecting the bridge without making any preparations. Due to this, the Transport Department is not letting the bus till Vidyanagar.
The people have also blamed the Gram Panchayat for taking this step without even drawing their attention. And for how long should bus traffic will be suspended not known. It took 5 years for the construction of the bridge alone but one doesn’t know how many months it will take to complete. In such a situation, the sudden suspension of bus traffic has caused problems for the passengers.
Other than bikes and autorickshaws, no other vehicles can travel here. Thus there was confusion among locals.
