Karwar: MLA Rupali Naik said that steps have been taken to clear the silt from the Jetty of Baithakhola Fishing Harbour. She said that this would solve the problems faced by the fishermen.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for various works at Baithakhola Fishing Harbour, she said that the boatmen were facing a lot of problems as the fishing jetty at Baithakhola fishing harbour was filled with silt.

The desilting work will be carried out at a cost of Rs. 3.5 Crore and the problem of silt will be solved, she said.

Along with the desilting work, the construction of a ramp, construction of a drain to drain out the rainwater around the fishing harbour, and construction of a fish drying platform will also be taken up here, she said.
