Karwar: Former MLC S. L Ghotnekar said, “During the last Assembly elections, MLA R. V. Deshpande had promised to give me a Congress ticket in the 2023 elections. But Deshpande, who broke his promise, is ignoring me and contesting in election. As if that was not enough, I was slapped with false cases after I came to know that I would contest elections.”
However he further said that he had put all these aside and was ready to contest the elections. This was my first political meeting in Dandeli. I also aspire to be an MLA. I have requested the voters to vote more and elect me as an MLA.
Dandeli JD (S) Taluk President Akram Khan throughout his speech lashed out at MLA Deshpande and criticised him for his style of functioning. JD (S) State Spokesperson Rahul Bawaji said, “Our favourite JD (S) candidate from Haliyal Constituency is Ghotnekar. So he requested the people of Dandeli to vote for Ghotnekar.
Sumangala Desai, presideynt of The Sarasara Seva Samsthan in Gund Village, said they would hold a women’s convention in Dandeli within 15 days. Meanwhile, more than 100 people from different parts of Dandeli Taluk joined the party in the presence of Ghotnekar. More than 100 Activists including Vishwanath Jadhav, Sandeep Deshbhandari, Dinesh Haladukar, Gurjar, Shrikant Ghotnekar and others were present on the occasion.
