Karwar: Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, a comprehensive development of Rajappanakatti lake in Indur gram panchayat of Mundagoda taluk has been taken up.The integrated development project, which is being constructed at a cost of around Rs 7 lakh, is planned to construct a stone pitching on the banks of the lake, a canal to supply water to the fields, an outlet and an inlet for the lake. The dredging of the lake has already been completed.

Panchayat Development Officer Manvitha Nayaka said, “As far as groundwater development is concerned, work has started on three tanks in our gram panchayat limits and comprehensive development of the tanks is being carried out’’. He said that the works of Narega project are helping to secure the water sources needed by the farmers here. At the same time, voting awareness was created that everyone should get ready to protect India’s democracy by exercising their right. Taluk IEC Coordinator Poornima Gowda, BFT Manjunatha Poojar, Gram Panchayat staff Sridhar Madalagi, GKM Shivaleela and others were present on the occasion.
