Karwar: The Excise department officials destroyed Goa made liquor worth 21.22 lakhs which was seized from various locations in a forest area in Majali here recently. Illegal liquor was stored at various hideouts, including in forest areas, and transported in vehicles that were seized in the past several days by the excise officials.
A total of 85 cases were registered in this regard and 3220 liters of liquor, 3338 liters of fenny, and 630 liters of beer were confiscated. The seized liquor was stored at the government warehouses. On Wednesday, June 10th, the Excise deputy commissioner YR Mohan and tahsildar R V Katti and the staff led the operation to destroy these items. The seized liquor was destroyed by them as per the standard operating procedure.
