Karwar: A man following compulsory penance before going to Sabarimala was attacked by a crocodile when he got into river Kali to have his morning bath.
The incident took place on Friday, at Dandeli in Uttara Kannada.
Nagesh Eshwar Ballari, a resident of Nirmalanagar in Dandeli is the injured person.
The forest personnel and the police who rushed to the spot managed to bring Nagesh to safety. However, he suffered severe injuries on leg, hand and other body parts.
He is undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
