Chikkamagaluru: A student from a college here was assaulted by a group of youth from another community, when he was watching a movie with a girl from another community, at Mudigere on Monday.
The incident created a tense situation in Mudigere. The police took the boy and the girl to the police station and sorted out the issue amicably.
In a related incident, a group of youth created chaos at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Mudigere in the evening. The police who rushed to the spot dispersed the crowd.
