Mangaluru: The United Muslim Organization (UMO) of DK district, along with various other Muslim organizations on October 8, held a massive protest in front of DC Office, against the exposed leaders of BJP and Sangh Parivar in the recent Cobrapost sting operation ‘love Jihad’ Conspiracy.
Addressing the protest, president of UMO and former mayor Ashraf came down heavily on Sangh Parivar and said, “Various communal riots and incidents have taken place in the district and the sangh parivar targeted the Muslim community in the name of love jihad. These were fabricated by them and now the truth has been revealed. Cases were filed against innocent Muslims.”

He further said that communal incidents take place in the district every day, and now Cobrapost has exposed the bitter truth of Sangh Parivar and how they intentionally targeted Muslim youth in the name of love jihad.

“We know that there are RSS chaddis in the police department. The leaders of the Sangh Parivar have now revealed that they have posted 60% RSS trained police constables in the police department. When we go to the police station to file complaints, some police use foul language, which shows they are trained by the RSS brigade. Those police from RSS background can only use such foul language”, he said.

“The three leaders from the district, who call themselves as leaders in the society are now exposed and they have revealed the way they used to do moral policing and invoke communal violence in the society. Through Durga Vahini organization, they victimize girls and teach the girls to trap Muslim youth in the name of love jihad. We have filed complaints several times in the police station in this regard but no action has been taken against them.” he added.

Challenging Sangh Parivar, Ashraf said “If they have guts let the Sangh Parivar come and attack our youth. Let the government create this city as a peace city before making Mangaluru a smart city.” He demanded the withdrawal of all false cases booked against the Muslim youth in the name of love jihad. “If the government will not take action against these three leaders, we will intensify our agitation.”

He demanded the arrest of Karnik, Shenava and Srikar Prabhu and also their expulsion from the district. He also said that the Police Commissioner Murugan is very transparent and he takes strict action against those who violate law. “We do not need such police in the department who support the Sangh Parivar in their dirty work”, he said and urged the police commissioner to investigate the entire police department and transfer the RSS trained police constables to other districts.”

Rafiuddin Kudroli of UNIVEF, addressing the protestors said, “We Muslims are 17% in Karnataka state and no government has fulfilled our demands. The RSS agenda is to dominate the minority and backward classes. When there is injustice, we gather to protest.”

Recalling the recent incident at Attavar, he said that the Muslim businessmen were questioned on how they could appoint Hindu girls in Muslim firms, when such incidents take place, but the media misunderstood the statement.

“90% of the people in the state are peace lovers. The BJP got only 34% of the vote, 66% did not vote for them. In the coming days, people will come out and end this fascism. When a Muslim speaks, it is called as provocation but when Kalladka Bhat delivers provocative speeches, no cases are filed against him. We are ready to sacrifice anything for peace”.

“The name “Love jihad” started in Kerala and spread to Karnataka and they said we took it to Muzafarnagar too. It is a strategy backed by the RSS to harass the Muslim youth”, he said.

Human Rights president Shafi Bellare said RSS is not only an enemy of the Muslim community but is dangerous to the country.  “They are a threat to Hindu religion and girls of this country. The jobless Hindu youth are monitoring girls and boys wherever they go. Girls and boys do not have any freedom to talk freely in a democratic country like India where one has Freedom of Speech and Expression”, he said and urged the people to join hands to curb such hate practices from the district and make way for Peace and Harmony.

After the protest, a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner and Police Commissioner by the United Muslim organization. General Secretary of Popular Front of India Shariff Bajpe, Shamshuddin and leaders from 32 organizations were also present.
