Mangaluru: As many as four people sustained injuries when a gang attacked one youth at Rao and Rao Circle, Mangaluru using lethal weapons, on Monday late night. In the attack, one suffered severe injury of the head, while three others have sustained minor injuries.
The victims are Shafeeq (45), Anees (22), Hafeez (22) and a local pan shop owner whose name has not yet been confirmed.
It is said that Shafeeq was standing near Harsha Bar when three unidentified men attacked him with machetes. Anees, who was plying towards Pandeshwar spotted the same and tried to rescue Shafeeq with the help of Haneef, but both sustained injuries in the attack. A pan shop owner, who too rushed to Shafeeq’s help was attacked.
The reason for the attack is not known. The injured are recuperating at a hospital. Case has been registered by Pandeshwar police.
