Mangalore: A chain collision involving six vehicles occurred on the Nethravathi Bridge in Ullal, Mangalore, due to a stuck lorry, causing a significant traffic jam during heavy rainfall.
The incident took place in the middle of the Nethravathi Bridge when a lorry malfunctioned and lost control, blocking traffic from the opposite direction. The lorry slid sideways due to the slippery road conditions and collided with an Alto car, creating a domino effect. Following the Alto car, a Ritz car, a Contessa pickup truck, and a private bus were also involved in the collision.
As a result of the pile-up, the traffic jam extended for nearly two hours, causing inconvenience to commuters. Fortunately, passengers in the vehicles sustained only minor injuries and managed to escape safely.
