Kasargod: In a shameful incident, three men gang raped a minor Dalit girl, who had come to a hospital for treatment here.
Three persons involved in the crime, including hospital cleaning staff have been arrested. They are Kishore (29), Manjunath (34) and Anil Kumar, all residents of Uduma.
The victim is a student of tenth standard hailing from Rajapuram area and is said to be originally hailing from Karnataka. She is said to have been abandoned by her father and had come to Kasargod General hospital on August 23, complaining of stomach ache.
After staying in the hospital, she was set to leave on the same evening, when she got acquainted to Kishore, a cleaning staff employed in the hospital on contract basis, who trapped her by saying that he was heading to Kanhangad and he could drop her there in his auto.
While taking her to an unidentified location, two others are said to have joined him. The girl in her complaint has stated that the trio took her to lodge and raped her and later abandoned her and the auto near KSRTC bus stand in Kasargod.
The gang rape came to light when the victim came to Kanhangad hospital the following day.
A case has been registered.
