Airports Authority of India organises ‘Smile Week’ from Jan 18 to 24

Mangaluru: The Airports Authority of India is organising a week-long event named “Smile Week” at Mangaluru International Airport from 18 to 24 January.

The purpose of the event is to re-establish the concept of “customer first”, in line with the corporate mission of Airports Authority of India to reflect the best side of Customer Handling and delightful experience during the time air passengers spend inside the Airport.

AAI manages 125 Airports and provides Air Navigation Services (ANS) over entire Indian Air Space and ground installations at all Airports. AAI is continuously working on providing a better tomorrow and is committed towards holistic welfare of the society by undertaking CSR activities, with thrust areas of Skill India, Healthy and Clean India, Green India, Responsible India and Heritage India etc.

During Smile Week event which started on January 18, each and every passenger and baggage handling at Airport are taken extra care of, to bring a smile on every customer. The event is planned in close association and support with all agencies like Airlines, CISF, Immigration, Customs, Ground Handling agencies, Trolley and taxi support staffs, and all shops/counters in the airport as well, to unitedly bring up improvement in guest handling experiences.

Celebrity magic show was organised on the first day by Kudroli Ganesh.

Other events organised during the week are Yakshagana & costume display, selfie points, special show by differently abled children, gifts & sweets to passengers, competition/painting/caricature/cartoon session, surprise events and music & song events.

Closing ceremony on January 24 will witness performance by speed skating national champion.

Expression of Interest for “Provision of Art work” at Mangaluru International Airport has been called for with last date of receipt of application being 06.02.2018 for selection of Agency for execution of Artwork in the Airport. The same has been uploaded on official website of AAI. The link is AAI website: www.aai.aero-> Tender -> tender search -> SouthernRegion -> Mangalore.

The entry of visitors to the Terminal Building at the Mangalore International Airport is banned with effect from 20 January upto 30 January due to security reasons, in view of the forthcoming Republic Day on January 26. Entry Tickets will not be sold to visitors during this period.
