Mangaluru: Joint Director of Adani UPCL Kishore Alva launched the All India Mogaveera Association (R) at Town Hall here on July 7.
Addressing the gathering, Kishore Alva said, “Mogaveera community is a God’s gift to the district. The people of the community are innocent but unfortunately, the ‘upper-class’ of the society made efforts to exploit their innocence.”
Alva also said that it was the Moogaveera community which had taken the initiative to oppose the government projects that harmed the environment. He also advised the well-to-do members of the community to help uplift the deprived and downtrodden within the community.
MLC Ivan D’ Souza launched the logo of All India Mogaveera Association (AIMA). In his address, Ivan urged All India Mogaveera Association (AIMA) to demand the union government to set up a separate ministry of fisheries.
Prasadraj Kanchan, President of Matha Amruthananda Seva Samithi presided.
Minister for Urban Development UT Khader, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, President of Shri Devi Education Trust Sadananda Shetty, Mangaluru Mayor Bhaskar K, former vice president of Janata Dal (S) state unit M B Sadhashiva, Chief Convener of AIMA Harish N Puthran, Convener of AIMA Madhawa Suvarana and others were present.
On this occasion, AIMA honoured N K Thingalaya, Vasudev Bollooru, Sathish Kumar Kudroli, Vijay Suvarna, Sarala Kanchan, Lakshman Kundar, Nishan Bengre and Sohan Kotian for their contribution to the society.
