Moodibidri: The Alva’s College students scripted new records representing Mangalore University and state teams at the National Senior Ball Badminton Championships held at Kuppam University and Gurgaon in Haryana respectively.
Inter-University Champions
Alva’s players who represented Mangalore University at the Inter University Ball Badminton Championship in Dravidian Kuppam varsity in Andhra Pradesh, from February 5 to 9, were instrumental in Mangaluru University garnering fourth consecutive title. Mangalore University, which entered the league stage for the 14th consecutive time, has won gold on eight occasions and silver thrice.
National Champions
Seven girls from Alva’s, who represented the state team at the 63rd National Seniors Ball Badminton Championships held in Gurgaon, Haryana, played a pivotal role in state team’s 3rd consecutive championship title. The state overall title tally rose to 10, with this victory.

Lauding the performance of the students in a press conference, Dr. Mohan Alva,Chairman of Alva’s Foundation said the achievers were studying in the institution under a special adoption scheme and striving to revive the ball badminton sport in the state.
