Amazon launches festive season initiatives for Karnataka sellers

Amazon is committed to making the festive season successful for sellers in Karnataka and across India
● In the lead-up to the festive season, Amazon announces a 50 per cent waiver on referral fees for new sellers
● Introduces a slew of initiatives to make online selling easier for sellers; provides them with the latest and greatest fulfilment technology making it easier and faster for sellers to get their products to customers.
● Announces Great Indian Referral Offer where sellers can refer their friends to sell on Amazon.in and receive Rewards worth up to INR 11,500
● Amazon opens its logistics and fulfilment infra for D2C brands with multi-channel fulfilment
● Introduces Multi-channel fulfilment (MCF) where sellers can now leverage Amazon’s fulfilment capabilities to pick, pack and ship products to the customer from the sellers’ inventory in Amazon fulfilment centres

Mangalore, October 06, 2023: As part of its commitment to make the festive season successful for sellers in Karnataka and across India, Amazon announced a 50 per cent waiver on referral fees for new sellers joining Amazon.in between 27 Aug- 4 Nov 2023. Valid for 60 days from the date of joining, the waiver aims to incentivize new sellers, help them build a customer base and establish a foothold in the competitive e-commerce market by reducing upfront costs. The Company also introduced a referral program – “Great Indian Referral Offer” where sellers can refer their friends to sell on Amazon.in and receive Rewards worth up to INR 11,500/-. Referrals made between September 28 and October 27 2023 will be eligible for rewards.

In addition, the company has also introduced a number of technological initiatives to make online selling easier and more successful for sellers. Amazon recently launched a Simplified Registration Process making It easy for Indian sellers to start selling online, Sale Event Planner (a tool which will help sellers offer great deals on their products, plan for optimum inventory well in advance and potentially grow their sales), and New Seller Success Centre (a helpful onboarding companion for first-time sellers entering the Amazon marketplace.

Amazon also recently announced Multi-channel fulfilment which democratizes customer order fulfilment and enables sellers to expand their reach by leveraging Amazon’s delivery network serving 100 per cent of India’s serviceable pin codes. With MCF, sellers can leverage Amazon’s fulfilment capabilities to pick, pack and ship products to the customer from the sellers’ inventory in Amazon fulfilment centres. This initiative simplifies order management, tracking, tax invoicing, and shipping, irrespective of the channel where the order comes from. It allows entrepreneurs to focus on core business activities such as product development, marketing, and customer service while Amazon handles order fulfilment.

With the festive season around the corner, there is a massive opportunity for businesses of all sizes in Karnataka to grow their business online, with an expected surge in demand. According to a study conducted by Nielsen Media on behalf of Amazon India, 81 per cent of consumers are keen to shop during this festive season. Online shopping sentiment remains bullish not just across metros but also tier 2 and 3 cities. Over 78 per cent consumers trust online shopping; 68 per cent consumers have identified Amazon.in as their go-to and convenient online shopping destination with almost half identifying Amazon.in as the most trusted and loved online brand for festive shopping.

Amazon’s investments in infrastructure enable a fast and reliable delivery experience for customers. Over the years, Amazon has invested in creating a robust physical infrastructure across India and in Karnataka. Today we have six fulfilment centres with more than 4 million cubic feet of storage space and two sortation centres with more than 3,00,000 sq.ft. of sortation area in Karnataka along with nearly 130 Amazon-owned and Partner Delivery Stations and more than 2300 ‘I Have Space’ stores. In addition, Amazon.in also has partnerships with Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society (KSRLPS) to support the growth of women entrepreneurs across the state. Amazon also launched Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium – a unit of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (KSHDCL), a Government of Karnataka Undertaking on the marketplace. Amazon.in also provides regional language experience in Kannada for sellers and customers. These investments in infrastructure, technologies and partnerships are helping sellers from Karnataka deliver to customers from across the country and also creating employment opportunities across the state.
