Mangaluru: The High Court of Karnataka ordered that a notice be issued to Naresh Shenoy after a plea was filed regarding subjecting him to a narco analysis test. The plea for the test was filed by Ramachandra Baliga, Vinayaka Baliga’s father.
Naresh Shenoy has been named as the prime accused in RTI activist Vinayaka Baliga’s murder that took place in Mangaluru on March 21, earlier this year. A District and Sessions Court and a Magistrate Court in the city had rejected the plea filed by the police regarding conducting narco analysis as Naresh Shenoy refused to undergo the test.
The Supreme Court has had ruled that use of narco analysis, brain-mapping and polygraph tests on accused, suspects and witnesses without their consent was unconstitutional and amounted to violation of the right to privacy.
According to sources, the hired killers were in touch with Naresh Shenoy.
