Bantwal: A second incident of confrontation between a KSRTC bus conductor and a passenger over the transportation of goods has been reported, this time from BC Road. On a bus traveling from Mangaluru to Hassan, a woman carrying cans filled with coconut oil was asked to disembark by the conductor. This led to a verbal altercation between the woman and other passengers.
When the conductor inquired about the contents of the bag, the woman jokingly mentioned a bomb. Upon inspection, the conductor discovered three cans of coconut oil and informed the woman that carrying any type of oil was not allowed on the bus. The dispute continued until the bus reached BC Road bus stand.
The conductor reported the incident to a female traffic police officer at BC Road, who, in turn, brought the matter to the attention of the station PSI. The conductor explained that he was following KSRTC rules, which prohibit the transport of oil on the bus. Additionally, he highlighted the woman’s response mentioning a bomb when questioned about the bag’s contents.
The woman clarified that she jokingly mentioned a bomb because the conductor persisted in asking about the bag’s contents despite knowing it contained coconut oil.
The PSI successfully mediated the situation, convincing the conductor to allow the woman to continue her journey on the bus, ultimately resolving the matter amicably.
