Belthangady: Belthangady is grieving the loss of Puneeth Kumar B, a revered lecturer at Nitte Engineering College. The community gathered to pay tribute to the deceased.
Former MLA Vasanth Bangera highlighted the importance of leading a contented life. He said, “True happiness lies in finding contentment with what we have. Living unhappily with unfulfilled hopes and aspirations leads to despair.”
“Though Puneeth Kumar’s time was short, he brought immense joy to those around him.” He added further.
Vasanth Bangera expressed confidence in Puneeth’s wife, Divya, to provide their 6-year-old son with a quality education and raise him as a role model.
Tukaram Poojary, President of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre, praised Puneeth’s dedication to his profession. He stated, “Puneeth saw lecturing not just as a job but as a noble endeavor. There are no words to console his family, but we must find the strength to face this situation.”
Retired Principal Prof. Krishnappa Poojary emphasized living a memorable life. He regarded Puneeth Kumar as immortal through his remarkable contributions. Puneeth’s family, known for their exemplary conduct, serves as role models.
Floral tributes were offered by Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishath President D. Yadupathi Gowda and Ramanatha on behalf of Puneeth’s family. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Puneeth’s parents, Ramkumar and Susheela.
The event was attended by Puneeth’s wife, Divya, their son Priyansh, brother Praveen, sister Pratima, father-in-law Poovappa Salyan, mother-in-law Keshavathi, relatives, lecturers, and some students.
The final rituals, including the Vaikuntha Samaradhana, were performed at Uppinangady Sri Sahasralingeshwara Temple, led by Vasantha Poojary at Puduvettu.
