Kodagu: In a heart-wrenching incident, a couple hailing from Hirikara village near Somwarpet in Kodagu lost their lives in a fatal collision between their car and a KSRTC bus. The retired principal, H.B. Belliappa, tragically died on the spot, his wife Veena succumbed to death on the way to the hospital.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the couple was on their way to Mysuru, Belliappa succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. Meanwhile, Veena, who was in need of urgent medical assistance, was unable to receive timely treatment due to the collision.
Authorities have registered a case at Bilikere Police Station to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
