Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee spokesperson AC Vinayaraj on Thursday May 3, alleged that the BJP has secured a PhD in spreading lies.
Addressing a press meet at MLA JR Lobo’s election office, Vinayaraj termed the allegations made by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and BJP corporator Roopa D Bangera against MLA JR Lobo as completely ‘baseless’
“The BJP leaders are involved in politics in the name of religion, caste and cattle. Instead let them come for a debate on development,” he said.
“The money granted by the central government to Mangaluru City Corporation, is tax payers’ money. Let MP Nalin Kumar do his duty sincerely. The flyover construction at Pumpwell is still pending even though several years have passed. BJP is misleading the people against MLA JR Lobo, by spreading lies. BJP is upset over the book on achievements of JR Lobo distributed to the people,” Vinayaraj said.
Vinayaraj also stated, “Lobo by his own efforts was successful in bringing the Amrut mission scheme to the city. When Yeddyurappa was the CM he just announced Rs 300 crore for Mangaluru City Corporation, but never released the funds promised. Congress government led by Siddaramaiah released Rs 100 Crore as promised for second and third phase of ADB project of the city corporation. Yeddyurappa’s government had kept contractors’ bill amounting to Rs 15,000 crore pending but it was Siddaramaiah who cleared the arrears when he assumed office.”
“To solve the drinking water problem of city, MLA Lobo took initiative to raise water level at Tumbe dam upto 6 feet. It was after Lobo’s initiative 60 percent of the footpaths were constructed in the city. It was JR Lobo who gave the face-lift to the Kadri Park and the Deer Park in the city”.
