Mangaluru: “The BJP has taken up the issue of Ram Mandir only to get the political mileage and people will teach the party a befitting lesson during the next Lok Sabha election”, said Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar on Saturday, November 24.

Speaking to reporters at the Mangalore International Airport (MIA) on Saturday, November 24, Parameshwar said, “BJP has been politicising the issue of Ram Mandir over the years. It has collected money from the public claiming that it would construct Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. BJP takes up the issue only during elections. As people know of the hidden agenda of BJP, they would reject the party during the next Lok Sabha election”, he said.

He rubbished BJP’s allegation of phone-tapping by the Congress leaders. “There is no truth in the allegation of BJP and they are simply trying excuses to blame coalition government since they are not finding any other issues”, he added.

Parameshwar refused to comment on Satish Jarkiholi’s statement that coalition government had not taken off still. “It may be his personal opinion and I will talk to him”, he informed.

When mediapersons sought his response over the tragic incident of bus slipping into canal and passengers drowning at Pandavapura in Mandya, Parameshwar informed that chief minister had already visited the spot and taken necessary measures in this regard. “I will also visit the spot soon”, he said.

Parameshwar had come to the city to participate in a personal programme at Manjeshwar and a sports meet in Alvas College, Moodbidri.
