Mangaluru: In order to create awareness on the importance of scrapping Article 370 and 35 A, a district-level social awareness programme on the theme “One Nation One Constitution” will be held at T V Raman Pai Hall on September 29.
Dakshina Kannada BJP President and MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor told reporters here on Friday, September 27, that Congress was misguiding the people with regard to the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A. “BJP senior leaders kept on telling them to scrap these Articles and BJP had promised to scrap it, before coming to power. As the Narendra Modi-led BJP government has assumed power for the second time now, it has fulfilled its promise. However, Congress has been attempting to get political mileage out of the Kashmir issue. Hence, BJP has planned an awareness programme in this regard”, he said.
Matandoor informed that the state BJP in-charge V Murlidhar Rao, MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Dr Bharath Y Shetty, and others will take part in the event.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, District BJP General Secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta, and others were present.
