Mysuru: The senior police officers are upset with Mysuru MP Pratap Simhha, who allegedly used derogatory words against Mysuru cops for allowing Mahishasura Dasara celebrations on the top of the Chamundi hills.
According to the video clip, which has gone viral, Simha used the word in the presence of city police commissioner KT Balakrishna and DCP Mutturaj.
“It is a black day in the history of the Karnataka police force. How can an MP use such a word in the presence of senior officials?” questioned a police officer.
Meanwhile, according to the sources, Mysuru city police have kept KS Bhagavan, progressive thinker, under house arrest to ensure that he stays away from the controversial Mahisha Dasara. The situation has turned tense, say sources.
Mahisha Dasara is a parallel Dasara celebration started by progressive thinkers, who claim that mythological character Mahishasura (killed by Goddess Shakthi) was a benevolent king.
