Mangaluru: The BJP candidates will grab all the eight seats in Dakshina Kannada district in the upcoming assembly polls, said Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar on January 23 after a party meeting.
Addressing media persons, Javdekar said that BJP with its “development mantra” would definitely win 150 seats in the state assembly polls. “BJP under Modi is ruling most of the states across the nation. Even in Karnataka, BJP will defeat the corrupt Congress and come to power”, he said.
“Congress has been indulging in ‘divide and rule’ politics which needs to be curbed. Hence the next state polls will be fought to wipe out Congress culture. Our party which has a tea seller becoming the prime minister and a Dalit leader the president of the nation, has been working with utmost dedication and discipline. Due to our reforms, India will become the fastest growing economy by next year,” he added.
He lashed out at the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government over death of Hindu activists. He also questioned the state government for its failure to arrest the accused in the murder of progressive writers like Gauri Lankesh and Prof. Kalburgi.
Commenting on the bandh call given on January 25, Javdekar said that it was a cheap move by the Congress to stop BJP National President Amit Shah who is expected to visit Mysuru on the same day. “The bandh call was given earlier on January 27 but now it has been rescheduled and advanced to January 25. There must be a role of state government behind it”, he alleged.
MP Nalin Kumar, MP Shobha Karandlaje and other leaders were present.
