Mangaluru: The re-installation and Brahmakalashotsava rituals of Shri Lakshmisathyanarayana Veeranjaneya temple located at Jagadguru Raghavendra Peeta,  Karinje in Moodbidri taluk, will be held between February 9 and February 19.

Brahmakalasha and Nagamandalotsava Committee President and Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian told reporters here on Tuesday, February 4, that the religious rituals will be conducted under the guidance of Karinje pontiff Mukthananda Swamiji. “Vedamurthy Ramadasa Asranna and Vittal Bhat Nandalike will lead the religious rituals. Though Karinje is a small village and has a limited population, it has garnered a reputation due to the Lakshminarayana Veeranjaneya temple. We are expecting over one lakh devotees during the 10-day religious programme,” he said

“Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan has also agreed to come and inaugurate a religious meeting scheduled on February 16. Along with him, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje, and others will be present,” Kotian added.

Talking about the sanctity of the temple and different religious and cultural programmes, Karinje pontiff Mukthananda Swamiji said, “The temple has been receiving much name and fame over the years and devotees visit the temple in large numbers. As the temple is now renovated with the help of donors and devotees, re-installation of deity, Ashtabandha Ashtothara Sahasra Brahmakalashabhisheka, Ashtapavithra Nagamadala and Jatra Mahotsava will be held in a grand manner. During the 10-day programme, there will be both religious and cultural programmes.”

Former MLC Monappa Bhandary, Vishwa Hindu Parishath state working President M B Puranik, Divisional Secretary Sharan Pumpwell, District President Gopal Kuttar and members of the Brahmakalshotsava committee were present.
