City-based man and daughter create Guinness record in scuba diving

Mangaluru: Nothing is impossible, proved a city based 15-year-old girl Ayisha representing the Scuba Divers’ Longest Underwater Human Chain along with her father, being a part of the Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum (India) setting a new Guinness World Record at Coral Grand Resort, Sairee Beach, Koh Tao on December 26 and 27, 2016.

Ayisha Heeba, daughter of Abdul Hameed, a native of Karkala and Arifath of Bajpe, is fond of adventure activities along with reading literature and is pursuing her ninth standard in Ryewood International School at Lonavala, Pune. Presently, the family is settled in Lonavala, Pune. A successful scuba diver, Abdul Hameed is also an expert in skydiving and has set a record. Ayisha and Hameed duo being a part of Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum (India) led by Founder, Dr. Manish Gupta, took part in the longest human chain under water, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Speaking to newskarnataka.com, Ayisha’s mother Arifath said that both father and daughter were adventurous. “Hameed has created a record in skydiving. Aiysha is also enthusiastic about skydiving but we have prevented her as she is too young. To achieve in life and contribute to this nation is my daughters ambition.”

Nearly 204 members from Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum (India) accompanied the team but only 182 participated in the longest human chain under water. The total length of the human chain was 140 meters. The participants had to undergo practice in scubadiving attire, masks and cylinders and had to follow the rules set by the instructors. The group had carried an 8×12 feet? tricolor flag and sang the national anthem before the Scuba Diving Guinness World Record.

Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum(India) broke the record of 173 participants that was achieved by Raid Italia (Italy) in the sea on Elba Islands in Bologna, Italy.

Italian divers had broken the record of 110 participants that was achieved by Groupement des Professionnels de la Plongée (France), in Saint Leu, Réunion, France, in 2013.
