City Police nab two more notorious cattle thieves

Mangaluru: The sleuths of City Crime Branch (CCB) have nabbed two more notorious cattle thieves in connection with a theft reported in Kavoor Police Station limits on the intervening nights of July 16 and 17.

The arrested accused are Imran (27) alias Kutta Imran of Ammemar in Bantwal Taluk and Umar Farooq of Shanthigudde, Bajpe.

The accused had stolen two cows tied in a cowshed after threatening the owner Purushotham in Moodushedde Bailu.

Kutta Imran who is also accused in a murder case has 20 cases of cattle theft registered in Ullala, Konaje, Bajpe, Mangaluru, Mangaluru Rural, Bantwal Rural, Bantwal City in Dakshina Kannada district, Kushalnagar, Somwarpete in Kodagu district and Sakleshpura in Hassan district police stations. Umar Farooq too has 10 cases of cattle theft registered against him in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu and Hassan district police station limits.

Police have confiscated a Scorpio car from the accused.
