The Deputy Commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have issued an order for the closure of all wine and liquor shops, as well as distilleries. The closure will be enforced from April 24, 6 pm, until midnight on April 26, coinciding with the polling day, and again from June 3 to midnight on June 4, in light of the vote counting process.

This decision has been taken to ensure the maintenance of law and order during the electoral process.
