Mangaluru: BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa on Saturday, November 11 urged the people of Dakshina Kannada to help realise Prime Minister Modi’s dream of a ‘Congress Mukth Bharath’ by defeating the ruling state government in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Addressing the BJP’s ‘Nav Karnataka Parivarthana Yatra’ held at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru the former chief minister said that the BJP will emerge victorious in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. Even in Karnataka the BJP will come to power by securing 150 seats in assembly polls and will provide transparent, corruption-free governance.
Slamming Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi for terming Goods and Services Tax (GST) as ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’, Yeddyurappa said that the world leaders have appreciated Modi government’s economic policy. 80% people in the country have accepted demonetisation which was successful in bringing down nearly 75 per cent terrorism activities and 20 per cent Naxal activities in the country. “Sensex has touched around 33,700 points. Does Rahul Gandhi read newspapers, does he have any idea about all these things?,” Yeddyurappa questioned.
Criticizing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for claiming that Narendra Modi was scared of him, Yeddyurappa said “This fellow is still a bachcha (kid) in-front of Modi.”
Yeddyurappa also sought the resignation of State Minister K J George following the CBI registering an FIR naming him as an accused in the DySP M K Ganapathy death case.
BJP leaders like KS Eswarappa, DV Sadanada Gowda, Shobha Karandlaje, Nalin Kumar Kateel also spoke during the occasion.
Former Congress leader Harikrishna Bantwal, along with his followers, joined the BJP during the occasion.
