Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel alleged that the coalition government in state was indulging in hate politics and claimed that the arrest of two journalists indicated the same.
Addressing a protest meeting in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, May 6, against the state government’s move of arresting two journalists, Nalin said the coalition government would be rooted out soon after the Lok Sabha election results are announced on May 23.
“As some Congress leaders now want to become the chief minister of the state, H D Kumaraswamy is trying to stick to the chair. Hence, he has sidelined the developmental activities and busy in hate politics “, he stressed.
Mangalru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath opined that the state was now facing an emergency like situation. “If a journalist is jailed for criticising the administration, can we believe that the democratic system will survive here?”, he questioned.
BJP leaders like Monappa Bhandary, Ravishankar Mijar, Sanjay Prabhu, Sudheer Hegde, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Bhaskarchandra Shetty among others were present.
